Saturday Introduction to Zen Practice
We offer Newcomer Orientation on the first Saturday of each month. Our orientation is usually attended by a mixture of people who are brand-new to the practice of sitting meditation (zazen), as well as more seasoned individuals who are interested in learning about our particular center's approach to practice. Thus, the session may include a mixture of introductory zazen instruction as well as some meditations that are emphasized at ZCSD. Instructors may also briefly review policies and procedures. The Newcomer Orientation dates for 2024 are listed below.
Orientation takes place from 9:00 to about 10:10 am. Afterwards, you are encouraged to join the sangha in the zendo for the remainder of the Saturday morning schedule.
